NEW WEBSITE FOR SOUTH CROFTY MINE. July 2009
The site, which was designed by Perranarworthal-based Hudson Armstrong, details background information including interesting facts about the mine, its history and geology, details of key personnel and details of how to contact the mine. There is also a live feed constantly updating world copper and tin prices.
Managers intend to use it as a way of posting job vacancies - extra to the conventional methods of advertising - as well as to provide up-to-date information of the progress of operations including a picture gallery, which will be regularly updated. The site also offers an opportunity to make comments and ask questions.
Chief Executive of Western United Mines Alan Shoesmith, said: "With the implementation of all the modern mining methods underground, we felt it was essential to upgrade and modernise our website as well.
"The plan is that we will continue to develop it in the future with the help of design company, Hudson Armstrong, so that it can eventually be used as a teaching resource by mining and engineering students and colleges worldwide."
